This soothing & gentle massage is designed to relieve tension by combining long, gliding strokes, and kneading of individual muscles. A Swedish massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and overall well-being.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue techniques are generally designed for more focused massage work, aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia. It uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. Deep tissue massage will noticeably loosen muscles, elevate pain, and increase mobility.
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a type of gentle massage which is intended by proponents to encourage the natural circulation of the lymph through the body. The lymph system depends on intrinsic contractions of the smooth muscle cells in the walls of lymph vessels (peristalsis) and the movement of skeletal muscles to propel lymph through the vessels to lymph nodes and then beyond the lymph nodes to the lymph ducts which return lymph to the cardiovascular system. Manual lymph drainage uses a specific amount of pressure (less than 9 ounces per square inch) and rhythmic circular movements to stimulate lymph flow. All of our Smartlipo patients receive a lymphatic massage as part of their recovery. It improves healing and results and Beleza’s massage therapists are some of the best in Austin!
