Hyperhidrosis Austin

Hyperhidrosis is a condition in which a person experiences excessive sweating in their hands (palmar hyperhidrosis), underarms (axillary), face and/or feet (plantar). Prescription antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride may alleviate symptoms. BOTOX®™ is effective in temporarily reducing or abolishing sweat production in treated areas for 4-8 months. A surgical procedure, endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy disrupts the nerves supplying the sweat glands. However, patients can develop even more bothersome sweating elsewhere and the procedure carries many other risks. A promising new alternative utilizes laser liposuction to damage the sweat glands under local anesthesia.
